About
Hey, I’m Grad van Horck, a software engineer somewhere in his twenties (I was born in january 1984, so you do the math).
After receiving my Bachelor of ICT degree, I started as an software engineer for Schouw Informatisering (Strategic IT), where businesses in the Food & Beverage industry are automated. My job is (of course) developing software for our clients, while also being some sort of .NET-evangelist throughout the company.
When I’m not working, I also tend to create some small applications I just need for myself. If they are ‘done enough’ I’ll post them here on my site, but most of them don’t get to that stage.
Also, in weekends, I work as a freelance lightoperator/-designer/-technician.

Greetings Mr. van Horck
I can mail you a .rtf with screenshot and error details of a .NET error/crash which occured a few times on one of my pc’s while using SynoDownloader 0.5 if you want it for troubleshooting purposes.
Error occured when adding torrents configured with SynoDownloader as the assigned torrent handler.
- Torrent got added fine, but .Net crashed and the pause/resume etc. functions of SynoDownl. disappeared.
I didn’t investigate too much, could be I just miss a patch or two for .Net, and are running Windows 2000 on this one.
I’m leaving the Synology community for now, and returning the CS407e I’ve had just for a few days - it was the wrong solution for me, and will now try the Qnap TS109 + a Promise NS4300 for raid5 duties, as I think this unit has hardware raid control. It sadly isn’t really clear with these units, but I found a review where it stated you could just connect to it’s ip after adding drives to configure the storage before adding the applications that Promise support.
We’ll see.. ;o
Best of luck to you and thanks for trying the SynoDownloader - hope I’ll find a similar application for the Qnap
Sincerely
Lars

Hi,

Hello,
i Have synology cube station CS 407 and i’ve found your syno downloader. Its a great stuff, excellent program. I have only one problem when i using it.
I have the premium account on rapidshare and my questions are:
when i use your site manager, i cannot insert https:// link of rapidshare (only http) and i havent any evidence that i’ve been really logged.
When i put a direct url on file into downloads in syno, i´ve only download some 5kb file…

Beste Grad,
Nogmaals dank, Rob

I have to express some thanks to this writer for bailing me out of such a issue. Because of exploring through the the net and getting tricks that were not productive, I assumed my life was over. Being alive devoid of the approaches to the problems you have sorted out as a result of the posting is a critical case, as well as the ones which may have in a negative way affected my entire career if I hadn’t noticed your web page. Your capability and kindness in controlling the whole thing was priceless. I’m not sure what I would have done if I hadn’t come across such a stuff like this. It’s possible to now look forward to my future. Thanks for your time very much for your professional and results-oriented help. I will not be reluctant to endorse the blog to any individual who should get recommendations on this topic.
